HORACIO FACCA has a passion for working with people and innovation and brings exceptional operating experience to the businesses he works with. He is a marketing and business development veteran, a venture catalyst and an investment banker with 20+ years of high-technology industry experience. Through his operating career, Horacio has developed a track record of over three-dozen successful deals, ranging from financial and strategic early-stage equity investments all the way to PIPE and M&A transactions. On the M&A side, Horacio has focused in deal sourcing, assessment, negotiation, execution and integration as well as in selling companies. He is very well connected to the startup and growth capital ecosystem, with outstanding networks for proprietary deal flow, contacts for service providers, executives and technologists, and relationships in the venture capital, private equity, hedge fund and investment banking communities in both West and East Coasts.
In 2004 Horacio formed Venture Marketeers, a Silicon Valley-based specialized strategic marketing and business development firm focused in assisting high-potential technology businesses build enduring industry-leading corporations. Presently, Horacio serves as a Managing Director with Origin Merchant Partners, a renowned middle-market investment bank that specializes in capital formation and M&A in North America and beyond, where he focuses in technology-centric investment banking. Prior to Origin, Horacio was a Managing Director at Headwaters MB / Capstone Partners (now Huntington Bancshares - NASDAQ: HBAN). Previously, Horacio served as a Managing Director with Axiom Capital, a distinguished NYC-based asset manager and boutique investment bank.
On the operating front, Horacio served as VP of Marketing & Bus. Dev. at C-COR (ARRIS International, presently CommScope - NASDAQ: COMM), one of the world's leading suppliers of advanced IP-based networks. Prior to C-COR, Horacio served in distinguished roles at Zaffire and Philips. Horacio started his career as an engineer in Brazil with a Globo affiliate, one of the world's largest media and communications companies.
Horacio is a graduate from the Harvard Business School and holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Economics (valedictorian of both). Possess a global perspective, having been to every continent and to 50+ countries. Horacio is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian and has intermediate proficiency in French. Board experience includes extensive assignments for Corporate Boards as well as being on the Board of non-profits. Qualified to serve on Audit, Nomination / Governance, and Compensation / Development Committees. Brings cognitive and demographic diversity to the boardroom.
I have been involved in tech, fintech / paytech, and medtech for the past 20+ years in both the U.S. and in international theaters, first as an engineer, then as a marketing and business development executive, and finally as a venture catalyst and investment banker. Over the years I have developed a passion for working with people and innovation in fast-paced deal-making environments. My attitude is to always learn and contribute and, to that end, I am happy to provide businesses with some early thoughts even if at the moment their aspirations or challenges are not more than rough ideas.
